Yakima Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Yakima StageTwo on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. Now, StageTwo is a platform style bike rack, and a really rugged one at that, it's gonna be really well built in heavy-duty. With this, we're holding the bike by our front tire, and it's not making any frame contact, so it's gonna be good for our carbon and alternative frame bikes, and it also has a 70 pound weight capacity per bike, which makes it good for some of our heavier e-bikes too. With this, you do have the ability to tilt it away with bikes loaded. Now, just come to the end of the handle here, squeeze it with both hands as you're applying a little bit of upward pressure, and then it will release, and that'll give us access to the bed of our truck with a full opening tailgate. more

Saris Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Saris SuperClamp HD on our 2015 Chevrolet Colorado. The SuperClamp's a platform style bike rack, can hold up to 2 bikes and it's gonna hold them by the tires using these wheel hooks. Now this one's going to get an exceptionally strong hold on the bike. You can see there's no movement of the bike within the bike rack because we've got the hooks as well as cradles with straps on the bottom to keep everything really secure. Now the Freedom's gonna be a platform style bike rack holding the bike in these cradles, and by our frame it's gonna be a pretty entry level platform style rack but it does have some nice features that I really like compared to some other entry level options. The big thing of that being it's weight capacity it has a 60 pound capacity per bike which for an entry level rack is really uncommon. So if you need a way to carry e-bikes this is gonna be a nice way to do it at an affordable price point. more

Thule Hitching Post Pro Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2021 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Hi there Colorado owners, today in your 2021 Chevrolet, Colorado, we are going to be test fitting Thule's Hitching Post Pro hanging bike rack. This hanging style rack holds your bike with the cradles on top and the included straps as well as a one down the bottom to act as an anti-sway. This will help keep your bikes from contacting one another one when going down the road. If we take a closer look at our cradles here you can see that there's grooves in them, and that allows the cables on the bottom of our bike to fit down in those grooves so they don't cause any scratches or abrasions to our bike's finish. When you're ready to use your bikes, simply remove the straps, and then you can pull your bike off. This is working great with our bike here. more

Is this going to be able to hold up to five bikes with three tie down points per bike You have two here on the top of your frame and one anti sway cradle on the bottom and what the anti sway cradle is going to do, it's going to limit that bike to bike contact that you get when you're going down the road.The main feature with this bike rack is it does allow you to tilt with the bikes installed, so you have this nice little trigger here. Press that down and it tilts. And on this Colorado, we do have a little bit of contact at the very bottom edge of this tilting feature. more

Today we're going to be taking a look at Hollywood Racks Destination Platform Style Rack on our 2015 Chevy Colorado.This is going to be able to hold up to four bikes, with three tie down points per bike. We have two wheel cradles on front and back with some zip tie style straps. Those are very easy to undo, and it only touches your inside of your rim, but it does have a little rubber insert right here, and this is going to protect your rim from any scratches or any sorts of things like that.What I really do like about this bike rack, is it's going to be able to fit a lot of your bikes that you throw at it. So this middle main support here does rotate 360 degrees around this center mast here, and also rotates 360 degrees around the pivot point too. So that's going to be able to accommodate for all those different style framed bikes like this one right here. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Today in our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE four bike platform rack. Part number HR1400Z. Now a couple of features I want to show right off the bat is one, this two bike extension can be removed if you only want to take two bikes out. All you have to do is loosen up this anti rattle handle right here and that will loosen up this pin that you can take out and then pull the two bike extension off and that's gonna shorten the length added onto the back of your vehicle and take some of the weight off if you're only gonna take two bikes out.The other feature I want to show is that it can tilt away from the vehicle. We're just gonna come in here and remove this snapper pin. It might help to pick up on the back of the bike rack and then we're gonna pull that pin and let it tilt away. more

Today in our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SC 4-Bike Platform Rack for Fat Bikes, with a cargo carrier added on. Part number HR1450Z-85-FB.Now right away, one of the features that we're gonna point out is that this bike rack has a cargo carrier added on to the back of it to allow you to haul any gear you would like to outside of your vehicle.If you would wish, you can pull this cargo carrier out if you only wanna take your two bikes out, or you could even use this cargo carrier by itself in your two-inch hitch receiver.The weight capacity for a cargo carrier when it's added on is 90 pounds, but when you put it as a standalone carrier inside the hitch receiver, it's gonna be 200 pounds.Now on to the cradles of our bike rack. This bike rack's gonna give you four additional fat bike cradles that'll hold fat tire bikes up to five inches wide. You can see the comparison right here between the fat tire bike cradle and the standard cradle. You're also gonna have four of these standard cradles if you want to take out one fat tire bike and then one standard bike. For the standard bike tires, it's tires up to three inches wide.Now the bike rack has three different points where it's connected. more

Today in our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SC 2-Bike Platform Rack with a cargo carrier attachment, part number HR1450Z-85.Now the addition that we'll point out right away is that we have a cargo carrier on the back of our bike rack, which isn't something you typically see a lot. With a cargo carrier attached to it, you're gonna be able to haul any of your biking equipment that you don't want inside of our vehicle, whether it's dirty or doesn't have the best smell to it.The weight capacity for the . when it's outside, on the end of it, is gonna be 90 pounds, but you could also remove it from the bike rack and use it as a standalone carrier, to which the weight limit will be 200 pounds. Or, if you just wanna take your two bikes out and you don't have any cargo to haul, you can also take it off and just use the bike rack.Now the bike itself is gonna be held in at three different points in contact. We have a hook-and-loop strap holding the back wheel in, and we have the same thing on the front. Those two straps are gonna make sure that the wheels stay in their trays and don't shift at all while we're traveling. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Chevrolet Colorado HR1450Z- Video

Today, on our 2019 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be doing a test fit on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE two-bike platform rack, part number HR1450Z. One of the cool features about this bike rack we'll start off with is that you can purchase add-ons for it whether you want to add on a two-by carrier to it or a cargo carrier to increased your hauling capacity. You can find those at etrailer.com.Another thing I want to point out is that we can tilt this away from our vehicle to gain better access to our truck bed. We'll remove that snapper pin first, and then we're gonna pull the pin on the other side and then let it tilt away, but you will find that when you open up your tailgate and you come down it is gonna make contact with the bike you have on there, but it does open up a good amount to where you can still hold it and get in to your track bed and grab any small thing you might need.To tilt it back up, just reverse the process. We'll tilt it back. It snapped into place, so we'll go ahead and replace this snapper pin. more

You do want to make sure while you're doing this that you have a hold of the bike rack and not the bike itself.Next, we're going to tilt it this way just a bit like that, and then we're going to come to this pin right here that's at the corner of our two inaudible 00:01:09 frame bars. more

Inno Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Chevrolet Colorado, we're gonna be taking a look at the Inno Aero Lite 4 Bike Rack for 1 1/2" and 2" hitches. That's gonna be product number INH640. As you can see, we have a bike installed, so let's take a closer look and show off some of the features.Now, starting from the outside and working our way in, we're gonna have this integrated cable lock system which comes out from the base of our bike rack, wraps around our frames, and inserts into that slot right there. You will get a set of keys with your bike rack, so when you wanna remove the cable you simply just slide up this tab, you have the insert for your key to unlock your cable, and then unload your bikes.These cradles right here have a nice, thick rubber padding which is gonna help protect the frame of your bike from any type of scratches or abrasions during installation and travel. The cradles can also move back and forth, and slide up and down the rack to accommodate many different-sized bikes and any spacing between bikes that you might want.If we look at the bike itself, we're gonna see it's secured at three different points of contact. We have two straps on the top of our bike frame securing it into the cradles, then down here we're gonna have this anti-rattle cradle. more

Thule Apex 4 Swing Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Colorado- Video

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be test fitting the Thule Apex Swing 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9027. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, we'll slide our integrated locking hitch pin over and as we slide the shank into the hitch the pin will latch into place in the hitch pin hole. After giving it a slight tug we'll tighten down our anti-rattle knob securing the bike rack it to the vehicle. And now we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 17-1/2 inches and from the anti-rattle knob to the bumper is 3-1/2 inches. We'll now go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the top of the bike rack to bring out our dual arms. more

Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, we'll pull the integrated locking hitch pin on the bike rack and slide the shank the rest of the way in. The locking hitch pin will slide into the hitch pin hole when it reaches that point. After giving the bike rack a slight tug we'll go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle knob on the back of the bike rack securing it to our vehicle. Now we can go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the bike rack mast and open our tailgate. And as you can see, we can gain full access opening the tailgate completely with this bike rack. more
